About the book: This is a modern retelling of age-old fairy tales, to empower girls in their childhood. Gone are the days of damsels in distress, In these stories the princesses save themselves. There are five stories: The little mermaid, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty, and the Beast, and Cinderella. Each one with a new character addressing modern-day issues faced by girls in Indian society. These stories hope to impart the values of equality, empowerment, and feminism to our girls (the future of tomorrow).

About the author: At 4 she read her first fairy tale and at 16 she wrote her own. A multipotentiality, Ariana is interested in writing, illustrating, and photography. Since early childhood, she has loved Disney movies and dreams of making one. For now, she wants to pursue design. When she is not studying you can find her sketching in a cozy corner.
